Born and raised near a wilderness area in Montana, the “opposites attract” rule drew Tim to Harvard, where he graduated cum
Laude with a Bachelor of Arts
in economics and from Northwestern’s Graduate School of Management (Kellogg) with a Masters of Management. Tim
brings a unique blend of experience in marketing strategy, process innovation,
strategic management, corporate finance, and corporate restructuring. He has
worked with the leading consulting firms of Ernst
& Young and Booz Allen Hamilton; and leading investment banking firms, including
EFHutton and Dain Rauscher.
As an investment banker, he has raised hundreds of millions of dollars for
established and emerging companies, not-for-profit entities, and
municipalities.
At RCG, he designed the firm’s strategic planning services, conducts strategic retreats, and helps conduct
various strategic and fundraising studies, among other valued services.
Samples of Achievements
Developed and executed the marketing strategy and financing of the first known
conversion of a not-for-profit to a for-profit, public company (Ports of Call).
Developed a successful market analysis and marketing penetration strategy for
COMPAQ's entrance into the education and home markets, which played a
significant
role in its rise to #1 in the industry through most of the 1990’s.
Analyzed the markets and financial characteristics of 22 Bell operating
companies for AT
&T and assisted in their combination into seven regional holding companies.
Directed the knowledge acquisition activities at Ernst & Young’s Center for Business Knowledge. Led teams in developing consulting
methodologies in strategy and reengineering. Led best practices knowledge
acquisition in such processes as product development, finance / administration,
and customer acquisition and retention.
He has a growing reputation as a business commentator, recently being featured as a guest editorialist on the future of Qwest in the Sunday Denver Post / Rocky Mountain News and on Denver Talk Radio. He co-hosted “Heads Up Billings!,” a weekly half-hour television talk show in Billings, Montana.

Up Close & Personal
In addition to his business achievements, Tim recently has served as a guest
lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences in Eastern Switzerland, and the
Swiss School of Hotel
& Tourism Management.
He also has a growing reputation as a business commentator, recently being
featured as a guest editorialist on the future of Qwest in the Sunday Denver
Post / Rocky Mountain News and on Denver Talk Radio.
Tim’s diverse interests have led him to run for the Colorado House of
Representatives; serve on the Boards of Jefferson County Housing Authority and
Step 13 Homeless Shelter; and volunteer at the Colorado Literacy Hotline and
Project Angel Heart, bringing Christmas gifts to disadvantaged children.
He is an accomplished guitarist, pianist, and baritone, having sung in
Krokodiloes, Harvard
’s prestigious all men’s a cappella group; the St. Bartholomew Church professional choir in New York;
and the Westlake Choir in Nyon, Switzerland, where he served as a soloist, and
tenor and bass leader.
He also has lived and worked as a business consultant in the Middle East, and
has circumvented the globe several times.
He is a voracious reader and avid sportsman, running rivers in a kayak, climbing
mountains, and skiing through waist-deep powder. Ever the runner, he still
holds several hurdling records in Montana.
